2023 IWSCA NATIONAL SPECIALTY
May 20-24, 2023 ~ Lake Elmo, Minnesota
Catherine Nelson - Agility
It’s always an honor to be asked to judge at a breed’s National, and I feel that way for yours. I’ve aways loved the IWS breed; their looks and athleticism and personality. I’ve been able to get to know a few through agility and tracking and they never disappoint. On many levels.
I’ve been running agility since the Jurassic era, i.e. before AKC started their agility program. I’ve run Shelties and English Cockers and currently have two Shelties, Jif and Chalk. I’ve done tracking with most of my dogs and am doing nosework with my current dogs, along with agility.
I became an AKC agility judge in 2002 and have enjoyed traveling the country and seeing fabulous dog and making new friends. That’s the strength of our sport; the community that grows from our participation and the connections we make through our dogs.
I wish you all great success at your National and especially in agility. I am rooting for each and every one to have a fabulous run. Even if you don’t, I can promise you that there are always good things in every single run. Just look at your dog and you will see them.
Good luck! Have fun! And may the course be with you.
